Why Green Building More Expensive?

Investing green building is more expensive 10 to 11 percent compared to conventional buildings. This is because the building environmentally friendly use of energy saving technologies by 50 percent.There are some buildings that lead to environmentally friendly building, but the building operation was not able to maintain a friendly environment again.- Good Adikusumo

"Investing in green building development more expensive 10-11 percent premium certification or highest category. Criteria for environmentally friendly buildings in the regulation is lighter than GBC criteria, but as the beginning of this rule must be received by the public."Currently only two categories of platinum certified green buildings in Indonesia, namely Jakarta BCA Tower project and a new building owned by PT Dahana to be used for the administration in Subang," he explained.Meanwhile, Director of Office Services Colliers International Indonesia, Good Adikusumo, said the majority of property developers in Jakarta became interested in building environmentally friendly office building concept. The trend is for environmentally friendly buildings assessed to raise prices and rents office space."Some developers are already aware of the need to reduce global warming. Environmentally friendly office building also much in demand by foreign companies of the country is required to have an eco-friendly office space," he said.Good said the challenge of the concept of environmentally friendly buildings today is how to maintain the aspect developer-friendly environment, that is, after the project has started running.


"There are some buildings that lead to environmentally friendly building, but the operation of the building was not able to sustain more environmentally friendly. Environmentally friendly building cost would be more expensive than regular building and there has been no study that describes the percentage of the cost of building a bigger," he said .


"When the building operates, what percentage of the energy that can be saved and how much extra rents that can be obtained," he said.
